Post: Any Advice/Info would be appreciated

    Josie

    Posted on 8/28/09

Ok, I have posted on this site before. I would really like
the truth from someone. I am in my early 40's, changed
careers and have certifications in SPLED, English and
Elementary Ed. I have worked as a contracted teacher since
late last year at a district's alternative school, which is
similar to working at a jail. As an earlier poster stated,
I am surviving and not teaching. I plan on finishing out
this year and just start over subbing for next year.
Everyone says to network. How do you network? Will
subbing help? Do districts look to hire their regular subs?

Should I give up on this profession?

    Thank you, Josie
