Re: MD certified looking to get PA certified
    Posted by: Ok on 9/13/09

Pennsylvania has the hardest requirements as far as getting
your first license IF you are out of state. I had a MASTER'S
DEGREE in Special Education in VA and still had to take
NUMEROUS courses to get my PA teacing certificate. You will
have to apply to PA and it takes about 4-6 months for them
JUST TO GET BACK TO YOU to say yes or no. Then, they give
you a YEAR to get everything taken or you start all over
again! It was VERY hard and VERY tiring. I had to take 3
courses in 6 months!! And I spent LOTS of money to do it.
Best of luck but get started. I am sure they will require you
to take additional courses. Guaranteed. But, if you really
want it, then you will do what they ask.
